Legal notice

These legal notices apply to the website monkiss.be (the “Site”), published by MONKISS. They set out the publisher’s identity, terms of use, personal data processing and intellectual property rules.

2. Publication director

The publication director is the legal representative of MONKISS SPRL, acting as managing director. Content published on the Site (texts, images, videos, dossiers) falls under their editorial responsibility within the limits of Belgian law.

3. Hosting

The Site is hosted on a private server located in the European Union, operated via a Coolify-style deployment platform. Production data (PostgreSQL, media files) remain under MONKISS control, without relying on consumer hosting outside the EU.

4. Purpose of the site

The Site presents MONKISS’s activity: filmography, news, team, production services and contact channels. It is a showcase website — no online sales are offered through the Site in its current version.

5. Intellectual property

All Site elements — the MONKISS brand, logo, visual identity, texts, photographs, video excerpts, trailers, Super 8 design — are protected by copyright and, where applicable, trademark law.

Any reproduction, representation, modification, publication or adaptation, in whole or in part, of the Site or its content, by any means, is prohibited without prior written permission from MONKISS, subject to statutory exceptions (short quotation, private use, etc.).

Films presented remain the property of their rights holders. Distribution on the Site (excerpts, trailers) does not transfer any rights to the visitor.

Third-party brands and logos (festivals, partners) remain the property of their respective owners.

6. Personal data (GDPR)

MONKISS processes personal data in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018.

Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:

  • Contact form: name, email, message, and technical metadata related to sending

  1. Responding to your requests (legitimate interest / pre-contractual steps).

Data are not sold. They may be processed by strictly necessary technical processors (transactional email, hosting) under confidentiality obligations. They are kept for as long as needed for the purposes, then archived or deleted under internal procedures.

7. Cookies and analytics

The Site aims to stay lightweight. Strictly necessary cookies or storage (admin session, language preference) may be used. No third-party advertising tool is integrated in the current version.

If anonymised analytics are added later, this page will be updated and, where required, a consent banner will be provided.

8. Liability

MONKISS endeavours to keep information accurate and the Site available, without warranting an error-free or uninterrupted service. The publisher shall not be liable for:

  • damage arising from temporary Site interruption;

  • use made of published information;

  • third-party content reached via hyperlinks (festivals, social networks, maps);

  • malfunctions caused by the visitor’s hardware or network.

9. External links

The Site may link to Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, LinkedIn or maps. Those services have their own privacy policies; MONKISS has no control over their content once a link is followed.

10. Governing law and disputes

These notices are governed by Belgian law. Failing an amicable resolution, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of the judicial district of Brussels exclusively, subject to mandatory public-policy rules.
